Catherine ULLENS de SCHOOTEN, President of Action Europe. With a degree in psychology, Catherine has over 35 years of work-related experience in the areas of communications, advertisement and marketing. She started her career as the Director of Orient Express Belgium. She then started her own public and press relations company with a diverse portfolio of clients: Paribas, British Tourist Authority, Income, Armani, Diners Club, Levi’s Jean, etc. Following this experience, she was the Director of communications and marketing for FNAC Belgium for over 10 years. After 5 years at De Boeck Group as its Director of communications, Catherine joined the Catella Group for 6 years as Senior consultant in the Transaction and Invest departments. She then carried out communication and lobbying missions for an international clientele with her own company C.C.F.G. At the request of its shareholders, she joined Action Europe as President and Managing director.
Robert SENGEL, Financial director, Senior Consultant. After graduating from the National School of Agricultural Engineering of Dijon, specialised in farming, Robert started his career at the Chamber of agriculture of the Lower Rhine as deputy director at the regional farming institution (where he was interim director at a very young age). He was then director of Reunion's farming institution for six years, in charge of developing the animal sector. He was then hired as Secretary General at both interprofessional organisations (ARIBEV and ARIV), position which he occupied for 18 years (1996-2013). As such, he carried out numerous audits concerning the revamp of industries in various territories. Robert joined Action Europe in 2019, bringing along with him his operational experience as manager, as specialist in the structure of food industries and in the setting up of joint development projects, skills he coupled with his knowledge of institutions and local challenges. He was awarded the National Order of Merit.
Benoît LOMBRIERE, Deputy Director-General, President of Action Europe Paris. Graduated at the ECEC and IEE of Bordeaux, Benoît has been involved in a number of ministry duties for almost ten years, after having been assigned as a parliamentary co-worker to the National Assembly. Prior to joining Action Europe, he served as the director of the French President of the French Republic in charge of the Far East. Benoît specializes in government and administrative decision-making circuits, an area where he has first-rate practical experience. His analysis of power issues often proves to be the best strategy for achieving the goals of our customers.
Emmanuel DETTER, Senior consultant, responsible for relations with the European Commission. Graduated at the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Lyon and specializing in sociology, Emmanuel began his career at the Ministry of the Far East, in charge of industrial restructuring as CIRI correspondent. He also served as Secretary General of the Labeyrie Group, and then as Chief Financial Officer of the Tracing Server Group (acquired by Sage). Emmanuel joined the Action Europe in 2007, enriching the study with his operational experience in financial management of industrial enterprises, as well as with an in-depth knowledge of the institutions and issues of Overseas.
Philippe Ruelle, Senior Adviser in charge of relations with the French Parliament. After graduating from ESSEC, IAE of Caen and holding a master's degree in agricultural and food sciences and techniques, Philippe has worked for more than 35 years as Chief Executive Officer of companies, cooperatives and professional organizations in the areas of agriculture and agribusiness, in continental France, outermost regions and internationally. He led Urcoopa in the Island of La Reunion, the Animal Nutrition and Health Division of In Vivo cooperative group, as well as the companies UGPBAN and Fruidor in the banana sector of Guadeloupe and Martinique. He has been a board-member of the Cooperative Research Farm in Animal Feed, a Chairman of the International Arbitration Chamber of Fruits and Vegetables and the co-manager of the Association of European Banana Producers (APEB). He joined Action Europe in September 2019 to bring his business expertise and experience in the agricultural and agri-food sectors to the firm.
Kathleen FIGUEIREDO LAISSY, Consultant, in charge of relations with the European Parliament. Specializing in a Master of Science (MSc) in Development Management at the London School of Economics (LSE) and a double degree in International Relations and Development Studies at Sussex University, Kathleen speaks French, English, Portuguese and Spanish. He was assigned to European Affairs at DANFOSS in Brussels, Denmark's leading provider of energy-efficient solutions, and the Executive Director of the European Bureau for Conservation and Development (EBCD), for which he developed a solid network at European institutions and international organizations.
Thomas LEDWIDGE, Consultant. Graduated in European Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Kent, Great Britain, and a Master in International Relations at Science Po Lille, Thomas has several years of experience in decentralized and decentralized government. Prior to joining Action Europe in January 2012, he worked for the Ministry of Agriculture. His technical case experience is an essential resource for the company's daily work.
Julie BEAUFILS, Junior Consultant. Holding a Master of Science in Public Affairs at Sciences Po Paris, who has been holding a one-year study at King's College in London, Julie worked at the Ministry of Culture and Communications in relation to the French Parliament. He also gained extensive experience as an independent consultant with missions in French, English and Spanish. Passionate about European issues and seeking the right term, joined the Action Europe team in June 2016.
David PASCUAL-COLLETTE, Junior Consultant. A graduate with a Master's degree in European Affairs from the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po), David was first involved in European diplomacy in India (at the Delegation of the EU and the Belgian Embassy in New Delhi), before gaining experience in management of EU policies at the local level for the Grand Paris Metropolitan Authority (Est Ensemble). A genuine believer in the European project, David grew up in Barcelona and speaks Spanish, French and English. He joined our team in February 2018.
Arthur Daemers, consultant junior. Graduated with a Master's degree in European Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and a Bachelor degree in History, Politics and Economics from University College London (UCL), Arthur has followed British and European politics very closely, writing for an independent London media. He then specialised in political communication, dealing with French, British and European actors. Interested in the interactions between public institutions and private companies, he joined the team in September 2019.
